Jungle

Jungle is a word of Indian origin from the Hindi jangal originally a dry, arid wasteland but in Anglo-Indian usage any wild, overgrown tangled vegetation, dates from the late 1700s. In the metaphorical sense of a wild, lawless place, urban jungle etc or a confused mess in general, dates from the early 20th century.
