Wink wink, nudge nudge, say no more

A British catchphrase that has become a hallmark for sexual innuendo. It was first aired in a 1969 comedy sketch during the BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation) TV series, Monty Python’s Flying Circus. The sketch features Eric Idle and Terry Jones with the former delivering the now famous catchphrase together with ‘a nod’s as good as a wink to a blind bat’. (Although everyone knows bats are not blind, despite the saying blind as a bat.) Note that the Eric Idle catchphrase is ‘wink, wink, nudge, nudge, say no more’ and ‘not nudge, nudge, wink, wink, say no more’, as is often quoted.
