Ticketyboo

Origin of: Ticketyboo

Ticketyboo

A British slang word for satisfactory, all in order, or OK, and dates from the first half of the 20th century. Eric Partridge maintains it is RAF slang from c. 1930, but some sources attribute it to the Hindi expression, thik hai, babu, which means, 'It's alright, Sir', which the British may have picked up from India. The origin remains obscure.
