Tart

Originally, from the mid-19th century, a term of endearment for a girl or woman, deriving from jam tart, rhyming slang for sweetheart, jam tart/sweetheart. By the late 19th century, it took on the connotation it has today, that of a girl or woman of loose, dubious morals.
