Stuff up/stuffed

Originally, to stuff is British slang from the early 19th century meaning to have sexual intercourse. It was first used as a euphemism for the f word, and this original connection is still there, but now relatively mild and fairly respectable, in expressions like a 'stuff up', indicating a mess or an adverse situation, and the popular 'get stuffed', the meaning of which is fairly obvious.
