Spoonerism

Named after the Reverend, Dr William Archibald Spooner (1844-1930) lecturer and later Dean of New College, Oxford, is the, usually unintentional, transposing of letters or syllables of words. Spooner may have been guilty of one or two, but most of those attributed to him were made up by his students. Spooner himself only admitted to one, a spectacular one at that, when at a church service he introduced the title of a hymn as, “The Kinquering Congs Their Titles Take.”
