Sorted

This clipping of the phrase ‘sorted out’ has become a stand-alone British informal expression that means all in order or satisfactorily arranged. For example, a shop assistant in Britain will invariably ask if you are ‘sorted;, meaning have you been attended to satisfactorily. It is also used as an adjective in the sense of ‘a sorted person’ meaning that person is well adjusted and in control of their lives. According to Tony Thorne’s Dictionary of Contemporary Slang the expression dates from the early 1990s and started among the criminal classes but has now become generally acceptable.
