Snow-white

This expression is so old and so often cited that it is difficult to nail down an exact origin. Suffice to say that the Bible, Chaucer, and Shakespeare all make references to snow-white. The fairy tale Snow White is first cited in English from 1885 in translating from the Brothers Grimm original story Schneewittchen.
