Raspberry

To blow a raspberry at someone is to make a rude sound by blowing air through compressed lips thereby imitating the sound of a fart. Therein lies the origin because it derives from rhyming slang, raspberry tart/fart, which dates from the late 19th century. One of the few rhyming slang expressions that has currency and usage in North America.
