Piss

Piss as a verb meaning to urinate or as a noun meaning urine, dates from at least the 1300s and derives from the Old French pisser to urinate. The etymology, both English and French, is imitative i.e. imitative of the sound of urination. Piss was once a perfectly respectable word used by Chaucer and others. It was not until the late 18th century that it came to be deemed as vulgar slang, which was when pee, a euphemism or polite form of piss, came into usage. See also on the piss and take the piss.
