Old as the hills

Most hills are indeed very old and the first reference to this hardly amazing fact is from the Bible, Job 15: 7, “Art thou the first man that was born? Or wast thou made before the hills?” The first citation of the actual phrase in English, as old as the hills, dates from the early 18th century.
