Nesh

Currently, a British dialectical/colloquial expression that means 'not liking the cold' and is mainly used in the Midlands and north of England. The word in fact is very old and dates from Old English, which means that it has been in use from before 1150! Its meaning back then, according to the OED, was 'soft in texture or consistency'. By the Middle Ages, it had come to mean 'timid or faint-hearted', and by the mid-1500s the meaning had migrated to 'tender, mild and kind.' All in all, the word has been on quite a journey towards its current, colloquial usage of being sensitive to, or not liking the cold.
