Mosey

Mosey is an American colloquialism that means to amble or move at a leisurely pace. The origin is obscure but when it first appeared during the early 19th century, it meant to move quickly but this meaning has now fallen away. This has prompted some etymologists to suggest that it might have been an abbreviation of vamoose, which means leave quickly from the Spanish vamos meaning let’s go.
