Khazi/Kharzi

Origin of: Khazi/Kharzi

Khazi/Kharzi

British slang for lavatory dates from the late 19th century. The origin is uncertain but there are two schools of thought. The first is that it is of Indian origin because of its similar spelling to khaki. The second is that it derives from the Spanish or Italian casa or casita meaning, house and small house respectively.
