It's not you, it's me

An expression that is frequently used in the context of the break up of a romantic relationship, sometimes followed by the statement, 'I hope we can still be friends'. The first known citation for the expression is the 1969 Shirley MacLaine movie Sweet Charity, but one suspects it was probably in use much earlier.
