Hot dinners

To do something more than other people have had hot dinners, is a jocular British idiom that expresses great frequency or wide experience at having experienced or achieved something or other. For example, a person might say, "I've had more experience of this sort of thing than you've had hot dinners." It is first cited from the 1930s.
