History is bunk

Origin of: History is bunk

History is bunk

This quotation is famously attributed to Henry Ford although he never actually said it. What he said in an interview with Charles N. Wheeler of the Chicago Tribune (May 25, 1916) was, “History is more or less bunk. It’s tradition. We don’t want tradition, we want to live in the present, and the only history that is worth a tinker’s damn is the history that we make today.”
