Hey presto

Hey presto, usually followed by an exclamation mark, means 'suddenly as if by magic' and is first recorded from the late 18th century as a stock phrase used by stage magicians and tricksters. 'Presto' is Italian for 'quick' and was borrowed from the Italian during the 17th century as a musical term.
