Game breaker/changer

This American expression was first used in sporting contexts during the early 21st century, refers to a player or tactic that would radically transform the strategy and/or outcome of a contest. It has spread rapidly throughout the English-speaking world and its figurative meaning now describes anything that radically changes the status quo.
