Eat, drink, and be merry for tomorrow we die

Origin of: Eat, drink, and be merry for tomorrow we die

Eat, drink, and be merry for tomorrow we die

The source of this is the Bible and although not the exact wording, something similar is mentioned in four books from both Old and New Testaments. Ecclesiastes, 8:15, “A man hath no better thing under the sun, than to eat, and to drink, and to be merry.” Isaiah 22:13 has “Let us eat and drink; for tomorrow we die” Luke, 12:19, “Take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.” Finally, I Corinthians 15:32 repeats Isaiah with “Let us eat and drink; for tomorrow we die.”
