As in dodgy or a bit dodge means suspect or doubtful. The phrase a bit dodge is quite modern, from the mid-to-latter-half of the 20th century whereas to dodge or to be a dodger or to be described as dodgy, which means to be a suspect or shifty person, has been around since the late 1500s.
