Different strokes for different folks

Some sources attribute the coining of this phrase to Muhammad Ali in 1966 when describing his repertoire of punches, as was quoted in a US newspaper at that time. In all likelihood, Ali was using a black American expression already popular from the early 1960s that had sexual connotations meaning each to his or her own preferences.
