Count your blessings

This is an everyday saying taken very much for granted these days, but it was coined in a hymn entitled Count Your Blessings by an American, Johnson Oatman in 1897. The inspiration for the hymn was St Paul Ephesians 1: 3, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings.”
