Blind
As used in expressions like blind rage, blind fury etc means reckless, indiscriminate, from literally not seeing and dates from the 14th century. Blind as in window-blind is from the 1700s and, again, derives from lack of sight in the sense of not being able to look out once blinds are drawn. Blind meaning to swear dates from c. 1930 as in ‘effing and blinding’.
