Beaver

US slang for the female pudenda from as early as 1927. Beaver fur was renowned for producing the softest, smoothest felt for use in hat and glove making. The similarity and hence the association are best left to the imagination. This has given rise to a whole host of slang beaver phrases such as ‘beaver pie’, ‘beaver creek’, ‘beaver patrol’ (girl hunting), ‘beaver leaver’ (homosexual) etc. Beavers also work industriously when building their lodges and to work like a beaver means to work very hard and is also of US origin and dates from the mid-19th century.
