Antediluvian

From the Latin ante meaning before and diluvium meaning flood, literally before the flood with reference to Noah’s flood and describes something or someone who is very old or antiquated. The word dates from the mid-17th century and was coined by the English physician Sir Thomas Browne (1605-1682). See also Out of or from the Ark.
